my life

I’ve been back for about a week now and finally found the time to post the pictures from my Brazil trip. I was able to visit three different cities with seven of my good friends. the scale of activities were ranging from the city life to the great wilderness of the amazon. the photos below are clickable and should bring you to the album associated with the city.

my first night in brazil was in Sao Paulo. only hieu and i decided to stay a night in the city to see how the life is like there. we did a bit of clubbing, eating and drank with the locals in a bloco party. the experience was fun but i will not recommend this city to anyone. just fly directly into rio and skip sao paulo.

Rio de Janeiro is the city to be at! this place is the party central of brazil. we were able to find a party at every corner in around copacabana and ipanema. i was finally able to witness the carnival in rio. the pictures can only show so much. i would recommend everyone to come to rio for the carnival.

the amazon rain forest was my last destination in brazil. this experience has got to be one of my top five. we were able to do some piranha fishing, cayman hunting, some jungle trekking and many more not listed. please view the photos to see what i’m talking about.

Yes, folks, in roughly 3 months I’ll be joining a few friends of mine and we’re heading to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for the carnival.  I’m pretty damn excited about this trip because I’ve seen it many times on TV and hear many crazy things about it.  Finally I’ll get to be in this grand party.  Let me know if any of you guys plan to be there also.  Maybe we can meet up!

Yes folks, I got a dirt bike earlier this week. I’m not planning on killing myself but this should be a fun sport. Let me know if any of you guys are down to ride. If you’re curious about the specs on my bike, please click here

I’m back from my short 2 week trip to Hong Kong, Macau and Vietnam. My visit to Hong Kong and Macau was everything I have expected but Vietnam was definitely an experience I will never forget. I’m sure more appreciative of what i have here in the states. In Vietnam I was able to visit Da Lat, Vung Tau, Thu Duc and Saigon. Due to the Typhoon Lekima, I wasn’t able to visit Hue or Ha Noi because the cities were still flooded. Please check out my photo album to see pictures from the trip.

I finally have the time to do my first blog from the other side of the world. I’ve been here for the last 3 days and getting used to this hot and humid weather. The jet lag is pretty bad but I think my body is finally adjusting. I think we are averaging about 4 hours of sleep a day from all the partying. I’m super tired right now so I’m too lazy to get into detail of all the things I’ve done. Lets just say, the girls here in Hong Kong are not that attractive but they seem to be very wealthy. Also, the food here is spectacular so far. We’ve had no complaints from all the random restaurants we tried. I think this will be it for now. Tomorrow, wednesday, we will be heading out to Saigon. I’m sure there will be plenty of internet cafes i can blog from. Catch you then!

Today I will finally get on my way to my Vietnam trip.  For those that you don’t know already, I was born here on American soil and never had the chance to see the motherland.  I remember promising myself that I would go after I graduated from high school but that never happened.  I did the same promise for college and that didn’t happen either.

Tonight I’ll be leaving with 6 other dudes on this trip.  We will be staying in Hong Kong and Macau for our first six days of the trip and the remaining days will be in Vietnam.  As you can tell, I don’t do many blog updates when I’m in the states but I’m going to try my best to blog in each city I’m in that has internet.(hopefully with pics)
Originally I have planned to have my trip till the 21st of October.  Due to work related reasons, I’ll be back the 14th of October.  I guess for any reason you want to get hold of me, you can shoot me an email or call me up at my VN number. (094-690-6193)

Yes, i got my first truck! Been thinking about getting a truck for awhile now. Initially I wanted a used truck but it seems like trucks holds pretty good value so might as well get a newer truck. After doing weeks of research, my budget bracket kept on bumping up. So, if i get a nice new truck, i’d have to sell my Z but if i get a okay truck around my budget, ill get to have both cars. well guess what? i think i’m going to have to sell my Z. last night i went down to power toyota in irvine and picked up this bad boy!

I got a new toy a few days ago and its called the Slingbox. This will allow me to stream my TV from home to any computer that is linked up to the internet. Now I will definitely be unproductive but a good thing is that I wont miss anymore good shows.

i got the Slingbox Pro model.

hello my internet junkies. last week i took a quick vacation to Costa Rica with hieu, sarah and nancy. they were a fun bunch and surprisingly enough with all the activities, hieu fat ngo didnt flop out on me. this trip was a last minute getaway from my long days at work. i never thought about visiting this country until one day i stumbled upon it on google maps looking for a quick getaway. initially it would’ve been a solo mission but the others shared interest to go so they all came along.

okay, lets get to the trip. this was a five day trip mixed with a spectrum of experiences. we stayed from a run down hostel to a five star resort. our group stood out during the trip because we were the ONLY asians in costa rica (not only because sarah and hieu are very octave).

here’s a balcony view of our first hotel in Costa Rica. we stayed at hotel Arenal Pacifico in Jaco, Costa Rica.

Jaco wasn’t the greatest beach in Costa Rica but it was the closest beach that can accommodate to our trip plans. we stayed here for two days and actually got some surfing in. the plan was to visit some rain forest around the area but we got too lazy and surfed instead.

our 2nd destination is Monteverde, Costa Rica. this is about a 4 hour torturous ride from Jaco. i’ve never been in a more bumpy ride than that. Monteverde is known for their cloud forest so we decided to do the canopy tour. the picture above is nancy zip lining across Monteverde’s cloudforest.

from Monteverde, we took a 2 hour car ride plus a one hour ferry ride to La Fortuna, Costa Rica. in La Fortuna we decided to stay at a very nice resort called Tabacon (i would recommend this place to anyone).

in La Fortuna is where we crammed in most of our explorations of Costa Rica. we were able to check out another rain forest with the hanging bridge experience, hiked to the town’s waterfall, and watch real RED lava rocks flying out of the volcano. I need to add that after we were finish with our long day, we were able to relax at tabacon’s hot springs.

above is a pic of the crew underneath La Fortuna’s waterfall.

bottom line, if you have the chance to check out Costa Rica, please do so. Costa Ricans are very nice, the country is beautiful and the location isn’t too far from the states(only 5 hrs from LAX). please check out my other photos to see more of Costa Rica.

Big Thanks to Hieu, Sarah and Nancy for a memorable trip! PURA VIDA!
